Oral history interview with Estelle Ringel, 2008 Sept. 4

Estelle Ringel talks about growing up in Brooklyn, New York, attending Samuel J. Tilden High School, and graduating in 1954. While working full time, she attended Brooklyn College at night. She also spent a short time on the college newspaper. It was there she met her husband, Robert and after he finished his undergraduate program, he accepted an assistantship at Purdue University so they came to Purdue in 1961. She talks about her time as the wife of Robert L. Ringel, who became Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs in 1990. Estelle interacted with all groups form students to faculty, staff, administrators and Presidents. She reflects on campus changes since she arrived in the early 1960s.
