The objective of the study is to evaluate the demographic consequences of habitat fragmentation for the tropical understory herb Heliconia acuminata (Heliconiaceae). The dataset includes 7 years of demographic data (survivorship, growth, reproduction) for >6000 individual plants in 13 populations. These populations are found in continuous forest (n=6) or forest fragments (n=7). The study was conducted at the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments Project in Manaus, Brazil
