In the present work we develop a description and analysis of public spending in the military and police forces in the last two decades, to identify how, through history and nowadays, public spending on military and police forces has affected in the armed conflict and in the beginning of the post-conflict, and how this affects the economic growth of Colombia.A descriptive statistic was chosen; based on data obtained from institutions such as Sipri and the world bank.
