The differential cross sections for the elastic and inelastic scattering of 14.1 MeV neutrons have been measured for 7Li and 12C by the time-of-flight technique. For elastic scattering, satisfactry fit of optical model were obtained. The same optical model parameters were then employed in the DWBA calculation. The value of β_2 for the 4.63 MeV state of 7Li derived as from the DWBA calculation is in agreement with ones derived from other particle scattering experiment For carbon, the values of β_l for the 4.43 MeV and 9.63 MeV state show disagreements with values from other type of reactions.
