September 8, 2000, launched the start of the Joint Contingency Force (JCF) Advanced Warfighting Experiment (AWE) at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The JCF AWE, which endeavors to enhance the lethality, survivability, and interoperability of light forces through advances in digitized situational awareness and command and control systems, represents one of the highest priorities in the transformation campaign of the U.S. Army.
