Present - day tasks of foster parent awareness and upbringing and support of children in modern Japan

This paper conducted an awareness survey of foster parents and put forth an examination with the. Purpose of clarifyinhg what kinds of awareness and options foster parents themselves hold concerming the practical aspects of child rearig,and what they feel are problems with the state of operation of Japan\u27s foster parent system. In order to operate the fosterparent system effectively,it is believed that support systems such child rearing consultation and foster parent development and training that supports foster parents and the foster parent system are the things that are most necessary. In the future, it will probably be necessary to expand the survey\u27s target area nationwide and survey the awareness of larger number of foster parents. In addidon, requests are being mado to also implement parallel surveys not intended only for foster parents, but for entrusted chiliren and parties surrounding the foster parent system, and for the overall analysis of dfferences in awareness and recognition, effects of foster parent commission, and so forth. Furthermore to complement the matters analyzed by the survey, there is an immininent necessity to examine the changing roles of child welfarere facilities in the environment surrounding children in recent years,family problems, societal awareness, and child welfare reforms in other words, to examine anew the meaning and role of the foster parent system from a socio - cultural perspective.国立情報学研究所の「学術雑誌公開支援事業」により電子化されまし
