Bovine mastitis is the infectious disease with the greatest impact on world dairy production. In Argentina, Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is the most important pathogen in terms of prevalence and pathogenicity. It can resist antimicrobial treatments through different mechanisms. Currently, there is great concern about antibiotic resistance, both in human medicine and animal health.
