Imago mundi, imago Christi – o mappa mundi de Ebstorf e a localização da Germânia imperial na Geografia simbólica da Idade Média Central.

Resumo O documento básico de nossa análise é o mappa mundi de Ebstorf, obra composta, provavelmente, na primeira metade do século XIII na abadia de Ebstorf, nordeste da Alemanha. Discutiremos as diversas concepções de espaço geográfico presentes neste mapa e o destaque dado nele à representação da Germânia imperial medieval. Abstract The basic source of our analysis is the Ebstorf’s mappa mundi, a work done probably in the first half of the thirteenth century in the abbey of Ebstorf, northeastern Germany. In this paper, we will discuss the different conceptions of geographical space presented in this map and the prominence given to the representation of medieval imperial Germany in it.
