PRIMEIRO REGISTRO DE Hemidactylus agrius (SQUAMATA, GEKKONIDAE) EM TOUCEIRAS DE Encholirium spectabile (BROMELIACEAE) NO SEMI-ÁRIDO BRASILEIRO

Although highly diverse, few species of geckos (including the families Gekkonidae, Phylodactylidae and Sphaerodactylidae) have been reported from bromeliad habitats, where the main goal of the present study is to provide preliminary information regarding the biology Hemidactylusagrius in association with bromeliad (Encholiriumspectabile) growing on rock outcrops in the Agreste region, northeastern of Brazil, where the field work was carried out from December 2009 through September 2010 during a survey of the herpetofauna in Santa Maria municipality, during this study we report the occurrence of Hemidactylusagrius in touceiras of Encholiriumspectabile, where in one night more than fifteen exemplars were observed, this report represent a great importance of conservation of this species, because this is considered a rare species and this report is a good and new notice for conservation of the H. agriuspopulation in association with bromeliads of the genera Encholirium.Keywords: Association; bromeliads rupicolas; Conservation and Gecko.Apesar da grande diversidade, poucas espécies de geconídeo (incluindo as famílias Gekkonidae, Phylodactylidae e Sphaerodactylidae) têm sido relatadas habitando bromélias, com esse intuítoo principal objetivo do presente estudo é fornecer informações preliminares sobre a biologia de Hemidactylus agrius em associação com bromélias rupícolas (Encholirium spectabile) em afloramentos rochosos na região Agreste, Nordeste do Brasil, onde o trabalho de campo foi realizado no período de Dezembro de 2009 a Setembro de 2010, durante um levantamento da herpetofauna no município de Santa Maria, durante este estudo, relatamos a ocorrência de Hemidactylus agrius em touceiras de Encholirium spectabile, onde em uma noite foram observados mais de quinze exemplares, este relato representa um grande avanço para a conservação desta espécie, pois esta se trata de uma espécie considerada rara e este relato é uma boa notícia para a conservação das populações de H. agriusem associação com bromélias do gênero Encholirium.Palavras-chave: Associação, bromélias rupícolas, conservação e geconídeos
