Perilaku pemakai gigi tiruan terhadap pemeliharaan kebersihan gigi tiruan lepasan (Denture wearer’s behavior towards removable denture cleansing care)

Background: Removable denture is generally classified into two types, removable partial denture and complete denture. The use of removable denture should be followed by denture cleansing. This behavior is done to avoid from plaque accumulation and denture stomatitis. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the society‘s behavior percentage toward denture cleansing in Gampong Peuniti Banda Aceh. Method: The method used in this study was descriptive cross sectional method. The data found through the questionnaires which were given for 97 subject man and women with age 20-80 years old. The taking subject used non random sampling was done with purposive sampling technique. The data was found from the quitioner answerd and then analized by univariat analisis. The data processed by table of frequency and precentage distribution. Result: The result ofthis study shows that the percentage of society‘s behavior toward denture cleansing who were categorized good is 14%, moderate 63% and poor 23%. The behavior categorized evaluated by likert scale, wich good was score 56-75, moderate: score 36-55 and poor: score <35. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that the most percentage of societiy’s behavior toward denture cleansing is moderate. Most of the society was not understand of denture cleansing. Therefore, it is necessary for them to get the information about it.Key words: Removable denture, society’s behavior, denture cleansin
