Sistemas de sucessão e rotação de culturas de estação estival de crescimento

This experiment, in its second year, was carried out in the physiographic region of the Central Depression of Rio Grande do Sul, at Guaíba, RS, Brazil, during 1982/83, to compare crop sequence and rotation systems with summer crops in a growing season. Crop sequence and rotation systems were analised involving corn and sunflower sowed in August, and corn, sunflower or soybeans after harvesting of corn and sunflower sowed in August. The response of corn and sunflower in monoculture planted in August, October, December, and soybeans in December was also observed. The results indicated that grain yield of corn and sunflower sowed in August were higher than in other planting dates. Sunflower in crop sequence to soybeans or corn produced higher grain and oil yields than in intensive monoculture. There were no effects of crop sequence on grain yields of corn or sunflower sowed in December and January, as compared to their respective monocultures. The crop sequence systems that gave the best response in grain yield were that including corn in August followed by corn or soybeans in January. Also high grain yield was obtained with the cropping systems including sunflower sowed in August followed by corn or soybeans In December.O experimento foi conduzido, no seu segundo ano, no período agrícola 19821/83, na região fisiográfica da Depressão Central do Rio Grande do Sul, em Guaíba, RS, com o objetivo de comparar sistemas de sucessão e rotação de culturas de estação estival de crescimento. Foram analisados os sistemas de sucessão e rotação com as culturas do milho e girassol (Helianthus annuus L.) semeadas em agosto, e milho (Zea mays L), girassol ou soja (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) após a colheita do milho e girassol de agosto, bem como os monocultivos de milho e girassol em agosto, outubro e em dezembro, e de soja em dezembro. Evidenciou-se que as semeaduras do milho e girassol em agosto foram os que proporcionaram os maiores rendimentos de grãos em relação aos obtidos nas demais épocas. O girassol semeado em agosto em sucessão à soja ou ao milho apresentou rendimento de grãos e óleo superior ao do seu monocultivo intensivo. Não houve efeito de sucessão sobre os rendimentos de grãos do milho e girassol nas semeaduras de dezembro e janeiro em relação aos seus respectivos monocultivos. Os sistemas que mais se destacaram em função da produção de grãos incluíram milho em agosto e milho ou soja em janeiro em sucessão ao milho de agosto, bem como girassol em agosto e milho ou soja em sucessão ao mesmo em dezembro
