The purpose of this research paper was three-fold: (1) To review the reasons and benefits of mainstreaming; (2) To determine attitudes of regular classroom teachers and ways to involve the classroom teacher in mainstreaming; (3) To investigate techniques to facilitate integration of the handicapped and the challenges of individualization. This third section also contains a series of suggestions and techniques to enrich the curriculum to accommodate a variety of student learning styles and patterns
