Ordbøker mellom finsk og norsk

Part one of this paper is a survey of the surprisingly scarce material concerningunderstanding between the languages of the neighbouring countries Finland andNorway. A two-way pocket dictionary was published in 1978 and revised in 1996. AFinnish dictionary adapted solely for Norwegians (1993) was later (2000) madesymmetrical. Part two is a discussion of the way to present Norwegian language toFinns. Much attention is paid to morphology. The morphological standard systemsdo not meet the needs of foreigners. The appendix gives the inflexional code systemfor the Norwegian language used in Finsk-norsk ordbok (2000).
