This article presents a specific example of how the work of an editorof the comprehensive historical Swedish dictionary, publishedby the Swedish Academy, (SAOB) proceeds. The example concernsthe Swedish preposition under ’under’ and accurately describes theprocess of writing that SAOB entry.
