In our experiment the change in D-amino acid content of slaughterhouse waste due to the treatments was examined. The treatments were done with sodium and potassium hydroxide solution, respectively, for 2, 3 and 6 hours at 135, 150 and 153 °C. Summarized, it can be said that due to the heat and alkali combinations we used aspartic acid, glutamic acid, tryptophan and isoleucine transform in 40−50% into the D-isomer.
