The purposes of this presentation are (1) to investigate the demographic characteristics of Chinese and Korean immigrant families living in the Greater Rochester Area of New York, (2) to explore these families’ perspectives and needs for support concerning their children’s growth and development, (3) to discuss how the community can use the information on the students and their families to enhance the students’ learning experience via culturally responsive teaching approaches, and (4) to celebrate diversity, and value more about building a community through dialogue on diversity.
