Biao Jiang's fan calligraphy - 江標扇面書法

Biao Jiang was known as a poet and scholar in the late Qing dynasty. In 1894, Jiang served as the Hunan Provincial Director of Education and one of his works is to promote western education. Together with participants of the Hundred Day's Reform, he founded "Xiang Xue Xin Bao", an important newspaper promoting a new education and political system. Although the reform failed, Jiang is recognized as a central figure in modernizing China's traditional exam system.江標，字建霞，號師鄦，為清末詩人、學者。光緒十九年（1894年），擔任湖南省學政，推行新學新政，參與辦理「湘學新報」，是維新派人物之一。Wind blowing between gates of Xiao Guan (Northern Gates of the Great Wall) can induce nostalgia.
