Lhasa, Norbu linga palace, summer residence of Dalai Lamas

A set of 50 photographs and associated handwritten descriptive notes, acquired from the Imperial Russian Geographical Society in St. Petersburg. On Waddell's Plan l.c. the palace is called Nor-bu Ling."S.W. of Potala is the Nerbuling k'ang on the N. side of the Kyi ch'u. In it is a large stone tank in which the water of the river flows. It is surrounded by dense foliage and has many paths.
