The factors that affect the behavior of investors in Gold future contracts (Gold futures) in the derivative market of Thailand.

This research is to study the factors that affect the behavior of investors in Gold future contracts (Gold futures) in the derivative market of Thailand. The objectives are to study the behavior of investors, the factors that affect the decision to invest, the analysis of the relationship of investment behaviors, as well as the comparison of the different factors that affect in making the decision to invest in Gold future contracts. This research is conducted by collecting the survey of 382 samples and statistically analyzed using percentage, mean standard derivative, chi-square, t-test ANOVA. Paired different is analyzed by Scheffe Analysis. The data analysis was done by SPSS by setting statistical significance at 0.05. The results showed that males with undergraduate degree at ages 30 – 40 years old whose average monthly incomes less than 50,000 Baht spend only 6 – 10% of their income to invest. The product is found to be the main factor that affects the investment. It is also found that the investment behaviors are correlated with gender, age, educational level, as well as monthly income. The research also revealed that the investors with different genders have different list of the main factors in making the investment decision. The top five factors are the product, price and cost, the domestic economic, political situation, and the impact from international factors. However, there is no significant different in the factor list as the age, educational level, and monthly income are different
