The Department of Biotechnology was founded in 1986, administratively belonging to Faculty of Engineering, Fukuyama University. Molecular biology, biochemistry, animal and plant-cell biology and-technology, microbiology, marine biology, genetics and gene engineering, enzyme technology, and each experiment of these items were assigned as the main curricula compulsory for graduation. And nearly six hundreds students were graduated for six years from 1990 to 1995.
