The population of English Language Learners (ELL) have reached an all time high, over the past decade. There has been an abundance need of teachers that are certified with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). The percentage of students that are English Language Learners (ELL) are 9.5%, with other western states in the United States, there is a percentage as high as 16.8%. There is limited training for classroom teachers to be a resource for English Language Learners, this review of literature will provide a resource of information that will be useful for preservice and in-service teachers.
