For decades, immigration has been perceived as a significant factor related to crime in the United States. It has been asserted that Hispanic immigrants are especially violent. This research is meant to explore the relationship between violent crime and immigration within the States and, in particular, Hispanics and violent crime. The research design in this study is retrospective with data provided by the U.S Census, Migration Policy Institute and Uniform Crime Reports. Results of this research may help to determine if such a relationship really exists
