I reveal the Hobbesian undercurrents of Robert Dahl\u27s political theory then apply his theory in an analysis of modern U.S. democracy compared to an analysis of John Locke\u27s political theory of the same. I reveal that neither explain U.S. democratic legitimacy very well, but that Hobbe\u27s political theory does based off of an objective definition
