Luliang (China), Buddha and intricate detail of temple altar

Tribute to BuddhaBuddhist temple in Luliang, Yunnan Province, China. This photo is one of a group of 12 pictures taken in the courtyard and the interior. Buddha is seated on a lotus blossom, his arm raised in the Sign of Peace. The two large figures were gold in color. (These were two of three in a row in the temple. They were all identical in size.) The two standing figures were very colorful and made of a plaster material. The delicate background patterns behind each figure were also vividly colored and made of a plaster-like material.
