Yunnan (China), Muslim temple

Muslim TempleThis is a Muslim temple near the Village of Yankai, in Southwestern Yunnan, China. The roof lines were quite ornate for a temple of this size. The building was made of mud brick, baked blue-grey roof tile and gold leaf trim. The straw in the foreground consists of rice stalks. The stone container in the foreground is used in conjunction with large stone pestles to remove rice chaff.GrayscaleBox
