Yunnan (China), small village scene

Yunnan Province, China - 1943 - 45Shows a center of a small village in Yankai Valley. The town looks abandoned on a bright sunny afternoon, and the reason for that is probably because much work was to be done in the fields. There are a few elders and children around. Note to the right is a group of people - they are youngsters, probably 10 or 11 and very small ones near the water well (right center in the picture). The young child to the right shades his eyes against the sun. He's wearing a skull cap and quite patched-up clothing. The buildings are made of mud brick and look quite ancient.GrayscaleBox
