The object of this work is earthen architecture, its development and traditions in Lithuania. Earthen buildings are not as significant as wooden in Lithuania’s countryside architecture. It still has lack of attention not only from researchers – it is still not as significant in heritage. Despite of it, earthen buildings were the second biggest group of traditional architecture in countryside and even can be considered as advanced masonry architecture.Key words: traditional architecture, Lithuanian country-side architecture, earthen buildings, ecological way-of-living traditions
