The article summarises and analyses the names of the educational establishments fixed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia for the school year 2010/2011, respectively one of the differentiating elements – usage of administrative division and toponyms. Analysis has been carried out and compared at random with the names of previous historical periods, basing on classification of higher educational establishments – schools and higher educational establishments.KEY WORDS: administrative division, toponyms, nomenclature word
