Volume 23 of Archaeologia Baltica is based on presentations given at the international conference ‘The Sea and the Coastlands’ on 8 October 2015. Dedicated to the 70th birthday of Academician and Professor Dr habil. Vladas Žulkus, the conference was held at Klaipėda University, organised by the Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology, in collaboration with the Thomas Mann Museum and the Thomas Mann Cultural Centre.
