The Influential Factors of English Motivational Self System

The study aims to explore the factors ofEnglish Motivational Self System influencing onintended efforts and learning achievement of highsecondary school learners in Thailand context.409 learners completed a questionnaire thatconsisted of fifteen variables ( Ideal English self,attitudes toward learning English, Ought- toEnglish self, parental encouragement,instrumentality-prevention, English learningexperience, appropriate teacher behaviors,increasing self-confidence, creating a pleasantclassroom climate, increasing learner’s goalorientedness,promoting cooperation among thelearners, promoting learner autonomy,encouraging positive self-evaluation, intendedefforts, and learning achievement ). The studyfound that Ideal English self, parentalencouragement, English learning experience andpromoting learner autonomy affected on intendedefforts while Ideal English self, Ought-to Englishself, promoting learner autonomy, andencouraging positive self- evaluation affected onlearning achievement.
