We simulate the flow of a yield stress fluid around agas bubble using an augmented Lagrange approach withpiecewise linear equal-order finite elements for both the velocityand the pressure approximations. An enhanced mesh adaptivestrategy based on this element-pair choice is also proposed torender the yield surfaces of desired resolution. Thecorresponding numerical scheme is formulated for generalHerschel-Bulkley fluids. Numerical results on Bingham fluidflows around a slowly rising spherical gas bubble are provided toshowcase the improvement on the previously proposed algorithmin [1]
