This study investigates the relationship betweenpersonality factors, cultural practices, and innovativeness on thenational level. Hitherto no study has been done which considersthose factors simultaneously. We base our model on threearguments: First, five factor and cultural theory states that thenational personality profile of a country influences the culturalpractices in a country. Second, person-environment-fit theoryargues that personality factors best can manifest themselves in anappropriate environment. Third, we argue that, in contrast tothe individual level, on the national level cultural practices do notact as a moderator but as a mediator.
