The paper is devoted to the analysis ofrhetorical and socio-linguistic peculiarities typical of Mr.Barack Obama’s political speeches delivered at differentperiods of his presidency. Thus, the present paper consists oftwo parts. The first part contains the description of thelinguo-stylistic means, used by the speaker, which are aimedat making his speeches more bright emphatic, expressive, andintelligible. The second part, written on the ground of thefirst, holds within itself brief commentary notes on sociolinguisticpeculiarities and reveals the main communicativestrategies in the President’s political behavior.
