This paper attempts to find out, by examining sixteen lesson plans from primary and secondary classes, the types and forms of drama activities that are commonly used to teach English in the Hong Kong classroom. In analysing the findings of the research, it also proposes that dramatic structure and dramatic logic play an important role in helping students to learn to use the language more relevantly and appropriately in communication
