Based on the analysis of two-year experimentaldata, we suggest that the humidity plays a unique role indetermining the energy output of silicon solar panels inSingapore. Due to the existence of huge water body, thetemperature dependence of humidity in Singapore is rathercomplicated, leading to significant oscillations of energy output ofsolar systems as functions of temperature. Numerical modelsincorporating the humidity effects are proposed to explain theobserved energy output of various kinds of silicon solar panelsincluding monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and amorphoussystems. Results we reported in this paper may have importantimplications in the future development of solar industry incoastal regions such as Singapore
