This article discusses the results of an university extension project developed in the period 2012-2013, for the prevention of Domestic Violence against Children and Adolescents (DVCA) through meetings and awareness-raising among the population served by Reference Centers for Social Care (RCSC) of Volta Redonda city. In order to do so, there were 33 meetings with the served communities with the participation of 482 users (with an average of 15 participants per meeting). After the presentation of an instructional video, the modalities of domestic violence, consequences, behavioral indicators, complaint and notification forms, and "nonviolent" models of family education were discussed.
