La economía y la sociedad cubana hasta el siglo XIX, un reto didáctico e historiográfico

The present article is aimed at reflecting concretely, how the interpretation of results of the Cuban economy and society until the XIX century have not embraced the whole country, even when several researches have been applied with a high scientific level; these studies were addressed to certain regions. Taking these contents to teaching nowadays constitutes a didactic and historiographical challenge, since the classic works dealing with the colonial period were permeated by the positivist current; reasserting the numeric data, facts and historical documents; assuming regularities in occasions that are distinctive of other regions, mainly from the central and western part of the country; obviating key aspects of the social history and from the east part. In this region, there are still gaps and fields to research.  El presente artículo tiene la pretensión de reflejar concretamente, cómo la interpretación de los resultados de la economía y la sociedad cubana hasta el siglo XIX, no han abarcado todo el país, aun cuando se han aplicado diversas investigaciones con un alto nivel científico; estos estudios se encaminaron a determinadas regiones. El llevar esos contenidos a la docencia en el presente, constituye un reto didáctico e historiográfico, por cuanto las obras clásicas que trataron el periodo colonial, estuvieron permeadas por la corriente positivista; reiterándose los datos numéricos, hechos y documentos históricos; asumiéndose regularidades en ocasiones que son propias de otras regiones, esencialmente del centro y occidente del país; obviándose aspectos claves de la historia social y del oriente.
