This study used LANDSAT multispectral scanner (MSS) data to quantify the habitat of the mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus) in Washington. Twelve ground cover types were identified and quantified by acre and percent of total acres for the northern goat management units (1, 4, 23, 24, 31, 33, 36, 38) of Washington State. In addition, terrain characteristics of elevation, slope, and aspect were used in conjunction with the ground cover classes to further characterize goat habitat
