The Impact of Changing Information Environment on Rerefence Services

Although, reference services have been based on the same philosophy since its first appearence, especially during last decade, its content and application have been subject to a constant change. Fundamental components of this change can be named as developments in information technologies; the use of Internet and Web; change of characteristics and expectations of users; change of education environment and increasing user education needs. In this article, re-structure of reference services, the importance of electronic reference services and the changing role of the reference librarian are examined.Danışma hizmeti, ortaya çıkışından bu yana aynı temel felsefeye dayanmasına rağmen özellikle son yıllarda hizmetin kapsamı ve sunumu, hızlı bir değişime uğramıştır. Bu değişimi yaratan temel unsurlar, bilgi ortamının değişmesi ve bilgi teknolojisindeki hızlı gelişim; İnternet ve Web kullanımı; kullanıcı özellikleri ve beklentilerinin değişmesi; eğitim ortamının değişmesi ve kullanıcının eğitim ihtiyacının artması olarak dört başlık altında değerlendirilebilir. Makalede bu değişim sonucunda danışma hizmetinin yeniden yapılandırılması, hizmetlerin elektronik ortam üzerinden sunumunun yaygınlaşmasının önemi ve danışma kütüphanecisinin değişen rolü üzerinde durulmaktadır
