Abstract Background: As the Latino population is expected to expand in coming decades, it will increase cases of Alzheimer’s disease among the elderly in this group. Culture values deem family members to undertake the caregiving role of their elderly Alzheimer Latino member. The caregiver role includes that the elderly complies with the treatment regime, specifically medication compliance. Equally, the needs of the family caregivers need to be examined to determine the effects of culture, which can contribute to medication adherence.
