The Huarácuy is a mythological being very recurrent in the oral literature of Huánuco, a theme that was the subject of analysis, characterization and weighting of its validity in the collective memory of our region. Our research had as general objective to explain the characteristic features of the Huarácuy in the context of the oral narrative of Huánuco. And as specific objectives, it sought to determine what its characteristics are, in what special situations it is presented and, finally, to identify with what stories this myth is related in the oral literature of Huánuco and within the Andean oral narrative; also demonstrate the little interest of researchers to study this myth in our region.
