El Huarácuy en la literatura oral de Huánuco

The Huarácuy is a mythological being very recurrent in the oral literature of Huánuco, a theme that was the subject of analysis, characterization and weighting of its validity in the collective memory of our region. Our research had as general objective to explain the characteristic features of the Huarácuy in the context of the oral narrative of Huánuco. And as specific objectives, it sought to determine what its characteristics are, in what special situations it is presented and, finally, to identify with what stories this myth is related in the oral literature of Huánuco and within the Andean oral narrative; also demonstrate the little interest of researchers to study this myth in our region. The methodology was constituted by literary exegesis, structuralism and intertextuality, which confirmed the hypothesis. This theme has a large bibliography, which characterizes widely the mythical character and links to the god Amaru. As results we managed to confirm that the Huarácuy is a divinity linked to water, landslides and huaicos. The conclusions that we propose are that the Huarácuy (and the Amaru) have diverse shared characteristics; both are important divinities, they are gods of water and irrigation; They look monstrous and terribleEl Huarácuy es un ser mitológico muy recurrente en la literatura oral de Huánuco, temática que fue motivo de análisis, caracterización y ponderación de su vigencia en la memoria colectiva de nuestra región. Nuestra investigación tuvo como objetivo general explicar los rasgos característicos del Huarácuy en el contexto de la narrativa oral de Huánuco. Y como objetivos específicos buscó determinar cuáles son sus características, en qué situaciones especiales se presenta y, finalmente, identificar con qué relatos se relaciona este mito dentro de la literatura oral de Huánuco y dentro de la narrativa oral andina; asimismo, demostrar el poco interés de los investigadores por estudiar este mito en nuestra región. La metodología estuvo constituida por la exégesis literaria, el estructuralismo y la intertextualidad, lo que confirmó la hipótesis. Esta temática goza de una nutrida bibliografía, la cual caracteriza ampliamente al mítico personaje y lo vincula al dios Amaru. Como resultados logramos confirmar que el Huarácuy es una divinidad vinculada al agua, a los derrumbes y a los huaicos. Las conclusiones que planteamos son que el Huarácuy (y el Amaru) tienen diversas características compartidas; ambos son divinidades importantes, son dioses del agua y del riego; tienen apariencia monstruosa y terrible
