Objective: to determine the relationship between perceived parental support and academic performance in elementary students. Materials and methods: the approach was quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 200 students selected through an intentional non-probabilistic sampling. Likewise, the Parental Perception Scale (CPPS) and the document analysis technique were used. For inferential analysis, Chi Square, T-Student, Anova and Pearson were used with a significance level less than or equal to 0.05. Results: it was evidenced that the highest average corresponds to involvement and support for parental autonomy.
