This article is the product of the analysis from my PhD work and the reflection about ongoing research into the lives of Chilean women who have lived in exile, most notably in France. Popular Unity (1970-1973) and the repression under the dictatorship (1973-1989) are at the root of the exile. The article also deals with the characteristics of their exile and experiences, those lived by women, in countries where people had found asylum. Indeed, Chilean women's true life as migrants and exiles are often forgotten. Their integration in a new country is lived in a distinct way according to the migrants’ various social affiliations.
