Background: In recent years, high intensity interval training (HIIT) has appeared as a healthy alternative at cardiac, muscular, and adipose tissue levels in different groups. Despite being a frequently discussed issue today, there is currently no clear consensus on its usefulness and application to older adults. Objectives: To examine the high intensity interval training as a training mode in older adults (>60 years) and determine its usefulness from a health point of view. Methodology: Studies were included in this review if: (1) they studied older adults (> 60 years), (2) included HIIT training in their intervention and (3) achieved or searched for health effects.
