The purpose of this article is to discuss the job burnout syndrome based on the organizational context model proposed by Dr. Maslach and Dr. Leiter. This paper presents the burnout symptoms in the physical, behavioral, psychological, social, attitudinal, and cognitive areas. It also explains its impact on institutions. Since a healthy workplace is important, as it benefits the institutions, employees and clients, this essay concludes with suggestions to prevent the burnout syndrome in the individual and organizational levelsEste artículo tiene el propósito de discutir el síndrome de quemarse por el trabajo mediante el modelo de contexto organizacional de los doctores Maslach y Leiter. Presenta los síntomas de la quemazón en las áreas físicas, conductual, sicológica, social, actitudinal y la cognitiva. También explica las repercusiones que tiene en las instituciones.
