Background For decades, researchers have found disproportionate numbers of individuals who identify as LGBT+ experience depression, suicidal ideation and attempts (Faulkner & Cranston, 1998; Mustanski & Liu, 2013; Noell & Ochs, 2001; Silenzio et al, 2007; Spirito & Esposito-Smythers, 2006).
