The third person of the Godhead has always been a mystery and open to discussion. Unfortunately, the debate is mostly driven by dogmatic theology instead of allowing the biblical data to stand on its own. There are as many interpretations as they come concerning the nature and place of the Spirit among the Father and the Son. Anti-Trinitarian efforts, for example, have indicated (and fixated on) biblical texts that might put in check Christian beliefs in the personality of the Holy Spirit.
