The Gender Differences in the Perception of Bullying in College of Wooster Students

Bullying is a problem in today’s society and the purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the perception of bullying. Research was conducted to examine if there were differences between the perception of bullying in males and females. The participants (N=100) consisted of 50 female and 50 males College of Wooster undergraduate students. Participants were asked to complete an online survey regarding their personal perceptions of bullying. This survey asked a series of different questions and the results varied in significance. Significant results in bullying scenarios indicated that there was a small amount of gender difference in the perception of bullying. Overall, the study suggests that with the exception of bullying scenarios, there is little to no gender difference in the perception of bullying. The results indicated that males and females perceive bullying scenarios somewhat differently.
