In an ever-modernizing public school system, many subjects seen as outdated or unnecessary are losing support in favor of subjects that appear on state tests and other assessments. To contribute to the pool of resources for Latin and Ancient History courses in high school and to demonstrate the usefulness of a Classics education, this project focused on creating ninth grade Latin language materials for a unit on Roman slavery that combines Latin language learning with Social Studies curricula.
