This study examined the relationship of admission criteria and mobility nursing student success as measured by retention and NCLEX-RN passing on first attempt at five colleges in a Midwest state community college system. Admission criteria, demographic and retention survey data was collected and analyzed related to student program retention and NCLEX-RN passing results. The education level of mother was positively correlated to student retention. The results suggest there is a positive relationship between PN GPA and prerequisite GPA and nursing student retention.
